Acuflex is a treatment designed by me and unique to my practice. It combines acupuncture and reflexology into one session. After a diagnosis is made selected acupuncture points are activated on the body (primarily on the arms, tummy, head or face), I then use pressure therapy to work reflex zones on the feet. The reflex zones and acupuncture points compliment each other by working to regulate the same bodily systems. I trained for 2 years in Reflexology and practiced it as part of my holistic healthcare for 10 years before moving into acupuncture. It is a wonderful therapy with many benefits and although I no longer offer it as a stand alone treatment I have found this combination to be very effective for general wellbeing, stress reduction, digestive issues, fatigue, anxiety and poor sleep.

Acupuncture and Reflexology are both rooted in the concept of qi. Qi, a life force energy that circulates around the body via a network of pathways, it is thought that when the Qi becomes blocked or depleted illness can occur. This concept dates back thousands of years.
Reflexology works by stimulating zones on the feet that correspond to different parts of the body. Instead of needles pressure therapy is used to work the reflex zones and regulate energy in the body. Acupuncture is more complex and works much more specifically, when used together with reflexology it creates a wonderfully balancing treatment that addresses more generalised ailments rather than complex conditions.
